Fans looking forward to the solo debuts of BLACKPINK members Rose and Lisa at the quartet's online concert this weekend will get a preview of Rose's solo material.
During BLACKPINK's online concert "The Show" scheduled for Sunday, YG Entertainment said Monday, adding that the singer wanted to share the single with her fans on stage first. Rose is set to perform her first solo song.
As soon as post-production for her music video is complete, the agency said it expects to officially announce Rose's solo debut schedule. Shooting for a mid-January music video, it said.
Although much is not known about Rose's first solo material, YG said the song captures the "sweet yet soulful vocal" of the main vocalist of the group, indicating it would be "surely different from BLACKPINK's usual music genre ."
With the debut, the second BLACKPINK member to release solo material is expected to be Rose. Together with her debut solo track "SOLO," released in November 2018, Jennie was the primary member to fly solo. On YouTube, the song has received over 600 million views.
